Where does the game information come from?

FinishedYet retrieves game titles, cover images, release dates, genres, and other metadata from IGDB (Internet Game Database), a comprehensive video game database maintained by Twitch.

What data is used?

• Game titles and slugs
• Cover artwork (served from IGDB's image CDN)
• Release years
• Genre and theme classifications
• IGDB user ratings and rating counts
• Related game relationships (for recommendations)

Is FinishedYet affiliated with IGDB?

No. FinishedYet is an independent project that uses the publicly available IGDB API under IGDB's terms of service. FinishedYet is not an official IGDB partner and is not endorsed by IGDB or Twitch.

What data does FinishedYet store?

When FinishedYet saves a game to its own database, it stores the catalog source (IGDB), the game's unique IGDB identifier, title, slug, cover image URL, release year, and genres. Your personal activity (ratings, reviews, play status) is stored separately from the game catalog data and is governed by FinishedYet's privacy practices.

Inaccurate or missing game data

Game metadata displayed on FinishedYet comes directly from IGDB. If you notice an incorrect title, wrong cover, or missing game, the most effective way to fix it is to submit a correction on IGDB's website. Corrections may appear after FinishedYet next retrieves or updates the relevant game data.
